Where’s the “E”?

If you’ve read through my posts of the past you will know that I like watching professional tennis and like all fans of all sports, I have my opinions of players and situations.

This past week has been the Australian Open tennis and I have been faithfully watching into the wee hours and more with one 5 set match having lasted through the night and past 8:30 a.m. my time. Yes, I am a faithful watcher!

Among the players who I don’t like, American James Blake tops right up there (though not at the top–that’s reserved for Maria Sharapova). The other night he played against Sebastien Grosjean. Blake has never beaten Grosjean, and he has never come back to win a 5 set match when he was down the first 2 sets yet some how miraculously, Blake beat Grosjean much to my chagrin. This isn’t the only match that has gone the wrong way Aussie Open, there have been more where the stats do not support the outcome. While I realize that stats are made to be broken, it all looks suspicious to me.

Back when I was a kid, I use to watch wrestling which eventually came to be known as the WWF and is now the WWE……….the E standing for ENTERTAINMENT. This change meant that they finally were acknowledging what many knew–it was all FAKE, it was for ENTERTAINMENT. It was not to be taken seriously, and was basically all a hoax (like those “reality” shows on TV).

I think that all sports should have the E included in them. It seems to me that they are all prearranged as to who will win.

Maybe we should have tennis E, baseball E, golf E, etc.

Another example of a place where the E should definitely be added is football. As a Packer fan and a cheese head I have to say that I am more than a little pissed off that the Packer’s lost to the Giants and are NOT going to the super bowl yet the way the Packers played makes me realize it’s the E theory once again. Since I watch most of the Packer’s games on TV, I see time and again how poor calls by the referees seem to favor one team and rarely is that team the Packers. The Packers/Giants game was no exception. The Packers played for shit, no doubt about that; they also had a lot of calls against them where they were flagged for doing the same as the Giants, yet the Giants got no flags.

It all has me wondering again if all sports should just have the E attached to them so that people realize they shouldn’t take any of it seriously as it seems the deepest pockets dictate the outcome rather than who is the better player or team.

This shit isn’t right!

So I mentioned that the car I just bought broke down on Friday? It has a 30 day 50/50 warranty and they place I bought it from did come and get the car on Friday evening. They said their mechanic didn’t work on Saturdays and I was cool with that. They asked me to call Monday afternoon to find out what the problem is (hello, this is my money on the line here). So, I called yesterday afternoon and they hadn’t gotten my car IN YET?! Needless to say I was a bit perturbed but just shrugged it off trying to be understanding and figuring that *IF* I’m nice maybe they won’t sock me too bad on this 50/50 thing (yeah right). So today I called at 11:30 to find out what they had found out about my car…………they haven’t looked at it YET but they assured me they would call this afternoon. He said they’d been busy. Ok, I understand being busy but this is not a repair shop, it’s a used car dealer that has a mechanic to fix their auction cars and get them ready for sale so I’m thinking WHAT IS THE PROBLEM here?! Now, it’s 4:30 and I know their mechanic leaves and 5 and I have had no call and I know that they haven’t even gotten my car in yet to look at it.

Yes, I have a 2nd vehicle to use; however, THIS SHIT ISN’T RIGHT! They should have followed through and looked at it Monday like they said that they would.

Must be time to be a bitch huh.

being reduced to helplessness

I think that more than anything my life that I hate (and there is so much), being reduced to helplessness has got to be the worst.

I hate asking favors of people, I hate borrowing things be it vehicles, money, or even asking of people’s time. I hate being in a position where I need to ask for anything from anyone. Yet here I am again, in that position–that helpless position–where I have had to ask to borrow a vehicle from one side of the family and beg rides from the other side of the family. I HATE IT. If I can’t survive on my own, get things for myself, I would just as soon not exist at all. I hate feeling that I owe something to someone (even if they don’t see it that way–I do). I hate that I am almost 40 years old and I am reduced to the role of a child who needs help in life. I really thought I had surpassed that point but it seems to manage to come back like a rabid dog to bite me in the ass again.

I wonder if there are others like me who feel that they can never get ahead no matter what they do or feel that at any moment the great conspiracy monkey is going to get on their back again.

I just cannot cope with this reduction to that of the helpless yet despite my best efforts, I cannot stay “well” enough be it physically, financially, or emotionally to stay out of this place of helplessness. It is a vicious cycle that I apparently am not talented enough to break out of despite my efforts.

Maybe it really is a god dam conspiracy!

The so-called stranded climbers

I don’t get it, really I don’t.

These fuckers go in the WINTER to climb some fucking hill/mountain  and no one hears from them so then some other stupid fuckers have to go look for their stupid asses.

WHY?

Why should people go and look for them?  They wanted to go and do this–no one forced them–so they should take what comes.  No one should have to look for them.  if they’re dead then they’re dead and if they’re alive they’ll come back when they’re ready.

Stupid!

The “N” word

Ok, I have to say that as a person from rural Wisconsin, I don’t really understand all of the racist flap that goes on in the world. Out here in the sticks, it doesn’t affect me I guess. We equally discriminate against everyone regardless of what their ethnicity is :-)

With that being said, I have to ask why it’s ok for a black comedian to say nigger this and nigger that as part of their routine but if anyone else uses the “N” word, then it’s considered a horrible offense. I have read that blacks, excuse me–AFRICAN AMERICANS–consider saying nigger or nigga to each other a sign of respect or admiration.

I’m sorry, you can’t have it both ways people! If the “N” word is truly BAD then no one should say it or everyone should be able to. You hear this word all the time in pop songs on the radio so why again is it bad? I’m confused.

Press 1 for English

I know that this is a popular and touchy subject these days but I just have to go there.

Why is that I have press 1 for English but the fucker on the other end of the line doesn’t speak fucking ENGLISH?!

This is so wrong I don’t even know where to start!  The last thing I want after I’ve gone through over 5 minutes of recorded bullshit after pressing 1 for English is to listen to fucking Julio try to say a simple name like KELLY.  Fuck me Julio–I pressed 1 for ENGLISH–learn to speak ENGLISH or get the fuck out!
