TIE UP YOUR DOGS!

This topic can go under a multitude of categories, the biggest one being pet peeves!

I love dogs, I must to put up with my demon spawn dog. I have had up to 7 dogs at one time (outside dogs and a house dog) and I have NEVER had a problem keeping my dogs home. They are tied up like they are suppose to be and on the rare occasion that a chain or something would break, my dogs wouldn’t leave my yard. I had one that did and he got hit by a car. I have never (no would I ever) let my dogs run loose.

Too bad others don’t have this same standard. I have had problems in the past with other people in town letting their dogs run and inevitably, the dogs find their way to my house. I’m even nice to them–I tie them up and give them a pan of water and call the owner to come fetch their dog with the hope that they learn they need to tie them up and it’s worked pretty good. I have also had times where the problem is continual and I have called the police and the dogs have been hauled away only to be bailed out again by their owner who then learned to tie them up.

Well, again we have irresponsible idiot pet owners allowing dogs to run loose. These people live 2 blocks from me but their dogs have repeatedly found their way to my house. 2 weeks ago I was at my office and had the door open and one of their dogs wandered in there. The dogs (3 in total) are friendly BUT they are also Pit Bulls. I’m not one to subscribe to that bad breed theory so I’m not worried about the dogs being mean, I’m worried more about someone else in town thinking they are mean and shooting them or hurting them in some other way. It’s been done many times in this town and I don’t agree with it AT ALL but I am cognizant that it happens and this just add fuel to the fire that the dogs should be tied up! I have even seen these dogs in the local park which is not a good thing all the way around.

Now back to the idiot pet owners. Last weekend I got complaint calls about these dogs running loose (which I know they do). Because I had called these people 2 weeks ago when their dog came into my office, I felt that should have been fair warning enough to tie those fuckers up so I called the police. The police talked to the people so I figured maybe that would take care of it but NO. Today, the dogs were running loose again and were at my house so I tied them up and called the police to come get them. I’ve been through this routine enough times to know that the police won’t come get them if they’re loose, they have to ready to go before they come get them. The police said they’d rather call the owners and give them another warning so I got the numbers off the dog tags. Within 5 minutes the people were here getting their dogs but here’s the best part. They had the colossal gall to BITCH THAT I CALLED THE POLICE. The woman was bitching to my husband asking what the dogs had done that was so bad we had to call the police. DUH–they’re in my fucking yard, that’s enough keep the fuckers home! That is exactly what my husband told them, keep them on your own property.

When I talked to the police he said it’s a $275 fine (per dog) for letting them run loose and more to bail them out of doggy jail if the police take them away. I guarantee you that these morons will not keep their dogs home and I will also guarantee you that next time I won’t be calling the police either. I’ll just load up the dogs and take them to the pound myself. Fuck that! If you cannot be a responsible pet owner then don’t have the pets!

My god am I ever getting old! I didn’t realize how nice it was to have my old trained dog in the house until this week when I brought my 8 month old puppy into the house to become a house dog. I expected to have bathrooming problems to deal with and I also expected some problems with chewing but OMG I didn’t expect it to be as bad as it is. Today, my puppy helped herself to my older dog’s bottle of medicine–all $33 of it–and not only chewed through the bottle but also ATE ALL THE PILLS! I called the vet and now I have to watch the puppy for seizures and kidney problems because of the medicine she ate!

Oh wait–did I mention that the reason I moved my puppy from an outside dog to an inside dog is because she had to have $300 worth of surgery?!

I’m too old for this shit!

Grrrrrrrrr. My dog is driving me nuts. Yes, the old one with arthritis. Now that she has pain medication she’s doing much better and she’s up and about. The problem is, she wants to lay in my chair–yeah, the one I got my fat ass in. This is an old habit she is revisiting. Her way of trying to get what she wants is to walk around whining this ear splitting high pitched whine that I’m sure only a deaf dog could stand! She keeps tromping around me blowing air out her nose and whining that whine from hell. I think it’s time to get out the swat! That’s one thing about training a dog from a pup with a fly swat. Usually all you have to do is show it to them and they stop being naughty.

My poor dog

I took my poor old dog to the vet today. She’s 14, was born deaf, and has arthritius. She’s been doing well but has gotten all stiff and has some pain. I took her to the vet for an exam and some good drugs. My poor dog hates riding in the car (something to do with being deaf) and so by the time she gets 30 miles to the vet’s office she can hardly breath because she’s so stressed. Then the vet starts playing with her stiff legs trying to see if it hurts. DUH! *I* am her mom and *I* know it hurts–just give her the drugs!
